Sambadende plays Tucano’s Grand Opening in Colorado Springs, Thursday April 26!

Tucanos Brazilian Grill Celebrates Three Local Non-Profits At Grand Opening Charity Event, April 26
Kids On Bikes, LifeQuest Transitions and UpaDowna are competing for the majority of that night’s proceeds

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – (April 24, 2012) Tucanos Brazilian Grill – a restaurant celebrating the colorful, vibrant lifestyle of Rio de Janeiro and the unique serving style of the traditional Brazilian grilling experience – opened to the public on April 5.  The first of its kind in Colorado Springs, Tucanos entered the market celebrating three local non-profits in the Colorado Springs community – Kids On Bikes, LifeQuest Transitions and UpaDowna - and is set to host an event to benefit their causes on Thursday, April 26. These three organizations were selected because they mirror Tucanos’ philanthropic mission of supporting children and families, our military men and women, and outdoor adventure.

WHAT:

Tucanos Brazilian Grill dedicates an evening to three local non-profits – Kids On Bikes, LifeQuest Transitions and UpaDowna – called the Grand Opening Charity Celebration, set to be held on April 26 as part of the restaurant’s community investment. Since the beginning of April, each charity has been asking the Colorado Springs, Colo. community to vote for them online and in-restaurant in a friendly race for the bulk of the proceeds - 75-percent, to be exact – from the Grand Opening Charity Celebration. The additional proceeds will be shared by the other participating charities making everyone a winner. While the voting is live through April 30, this Thursday’s turnout is what counts the most. The more people dining at Tucanos Brazilian Grill between 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. means the larger the donation for all of the non-profits involved.

Bringing the bright authentic stylings of a true Brazilian dining experience to Colorado Springs, Colo., Tucanos Brazilian Grill will also introduce the vibrant sounds of Brazil with the Boulder-based Brazilian band Sambadende and beautiful Carnival dancing by local Brazilian dancers led by Luciana da Silva.

For a $25 per person reservation, guests will enjoy the exotic flavors of a traditional Brazilian churrasco (shoe-HAS-ko), including unlimited savory, succulent meats slow-cooked over open-flame grills, then sliced from skewers directly onto the plate. Each meal also includes the famous Salad Festival®, featuring only the freshest ingredients, a sinful selection of decadent desserts, and the legendary Tucanos Brazilian Lemonade.
